This process is aimed at all companies that purchase printed collateral. It will be particularly useful to companies which do not have a centralised print procurement function.
The tender will cover:
- Review of print requirements
- Examination of most common products and recommendations for cost savings by changing specifications and opportunities for improved scheduling of production
- Pre-qualification of suppliers
- Review of current suppliers and suggested alternative suppliers. If appropriate, documented qualification process.
- Running of tender process
- Drafting and agreement of tender documents, management of bidding process (e-procurement and e-auctioning options are available if appropriate).
- Agreement of final suppliers
- Recommendation for final suppliers, factory inspections if appropriate, final negotiations if appropriate.
- Implementation
- Drafting and agreement of service level documents, creation of price matrices, briefing of company and supplier staff, provision of user documents if appropriate.
A recent tender process undertaken by Print & Procurement at a large national advertising agency highlighted cost savings of nearly 30% on some of their products through a mixture of highlighting correct market pricing and targeting printers with more appropriate presses for the required jobs.
